My first Frankenpolish

Whaddayathink?

I think I did pretty well!

I really must praise myself for my first Frankenpolish because no one else would!

I was so excited yesterday when I mixed it all together and then swatched it! My boyfriend wasn't so excited, but how could I ask a guy for praise on nail polish! :-))

Anyway, I was inspired by these bloggers to mix together my own polish:

Dr. Frankenpolish, Tini, Amarena

Here is my whole hand:

And I shall name my new nail polish:

Milky Way

I used 3 coats of "Milky Way" to make it really opaque and "Seche Vite" as top coat!

Schminkmädchen's Giveaway: My Prize

Schminkmädchen held a contest and I was the lucky booby prize winner!

I was pretty amazed when I got her package yesterday because I hadn't expected such a great selection of gifts. Schminkmädchen, thank you very much!! That was very generous! The Whoosh Shower Jelly, which was also in the package, is missing in the picture because it was leaking and I had to transfer to the bathroom immediately. But nothing got stained! Big hurrah!

So I was VERY excited when I saw the Anna Sui gift set! One thing you must know is that I LOVE Anna Sui perfumes! My favorite perfume of all perfumes is Anna Sui's "Dreams". I get bottles of it every time I go to the U.S. because I can't get it here in Vienna! I have like 3 bottles at home now!

Today I am wearing the "Secret" perfume and the body lotion that were in the package and it is already on my perfume wishlist! I have got to get that full size! I love it!

My Essie Nail Polish Collection

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you my Essie nail polish collection!

Ta-daaaaaa!!

I have 6 shades and that will be it for a while, even though I just discovered that they sell Essie at "Douglas" in Vienna now. I find them too expensive for their quality and I always have to work like a madman to get the color nice and even. But they do have some pretty shades, some pretty girly pink shades!

And here is the array:

Nails of the Day: Essie "Violin"

Essie's shade Violin is on my nails right now.

I have to say Essie nail polishes require my best painting skills. They are definitely not the easiest nail polishes to work with. This shade I found particularly thin and streaky and when I saw the first coat on my nails, I doubted that I could make it work at all. I needed 3 coats to make it opaque and somewhat even and I have to admit that Seche Vite did the rest, it smoothed it out and made it look decent.

So if I had to give directions for use, this is what I would suggest:

1. Concentrate reaaaaaaaally hard! Don't let anything distract you, like your cat... or a naked man on tv...
2. Hold your breath while painting (you may breathe between nails) ;-)
3. Eat a big pizza before painting because your hands are less likely to shake
4. Ask your boyfriend/friend/mom to cheer for you if you get a nail right, it will encourage you for the next one!
5. Don't, by all means, give up, even if the first coat looks terrible. You will eventually get there, even if it means blow-drying your nails for an hour because you put on 7 coats...

I hope with these great tricks you will be able to master Essie nail polishes!
