MAC Viva Glam Gaga

Hello everybody!

I picked up the MAC Viva Glam Gaga lipstick at the MAC Preview Party the other night and this morning I swatched it. It's a very pretty and wearable color, finishwise it's a Lustre, which means it's on the sheerer side but very glossy and moisturizing.

Here is how it compares to Saint Germain (Amplified) and to Colour Crafted (Frost):

Now the color itself looks kind of scary to me in the tube, since it's such a bright pink, but it really does come off sheer and I had to apply it rather heavily in order for it to show up.

I read somewhere that the Viva Glam Gaga and Cindy lipsticks will not become permanent at MAC and will be discontinued after a while. I don't know if that's true, I think that would be such a bummer, given that Gaga is already becoming a cult lipstick and that all the proceeds go to the MAC Aids Fund. But who knows, I will pick up a backup of the Gaga lipstick, just in case.

MAC Spring Colour Forecast

Hello everybody!

So I went to the MAC Preview Party yesterday for the Spring Colour Forecast Collection and I got to meet and talk to Lilly, yay! Hi Lilly! :-)

I only got 2 things from the huge collection and here they are:

There would have been tons of things that I could have picked up, but I tried to limit my purchases to what I REALLY wanted.

Killed 2 More Cosmetics

2 more are gone, so that makes 5 items out of 10 that I have used up, and 5 to go.

I won't even start to make excuses!

I am really bad at this Project 10 Pan/Kill your Cosmetics stuff.

But since I started it, I will bring it to the end.

Onto the products that I have used up:

Jade FeuchtigkeitsMake-Up in 1 Hell Beige

I liked the foundation, it gave decent coverage (light to medium) and melt invisibly into the skin. It was very moisturizing and gave an even finish. What I didn't like about it was the smell, it was very synthetic, if that makes sense. I don't quite know how to describe it, but it comes close to the artificial smell of self-tanners. For that reason I won't repurchase, even though the consistency of the foundation is really excellent.

OPI Tutti Frutti Tonga

This was my first OPI nail polish ever and I have a backup. It had gone a little thick so I needed to use it up. I dabbed it on between full manicures, it was always appropriate and it is a really pretty color. I won't purchase a backup of the backup though, I have too many other nail polishes that need to be used up.

OPI "You Don't Know Jacques Suede"

OPI You Don't Know Jacques Suede

(OPI Suede Collection)

You have probably seen this color swatched a million times on other blogs, but anyway, here is my swatch.

I used:

1 coat of Essence Multi-Vitamin Nail Hardener

2 coats of You Don't Know Jacques Suede

1 coat of Seche Vite

The color chips off a lot more with these suede finishes, so I have to fill in gaps and chippings every other day. I just paint over the chippings and add a little bit of Seche Vite.

As for the ring:

I found it at Six Accessories on Vienna's Kärntner Strasse. The chain has stores in several European countries and in Singapore. There is a store locator on the site, in case you're interested. For Viennese readers: There is one store on Kärntner Strasse and one in the SCS Shopping City Süd.

This seems to be my latest hobby: finding rings that match my nail polishes :-)

It's a Glaze and colorwise a sheer, shimmery peachy-gold.

Sunsational reminds me of last summer, I wore it a lot and it gave me a "sunny" feeling. :-)

I could really use a sunny feeling now, it's been freezing cold here in Vienna with no end in sight...

MAC Mineralize Foundation SPF 15

Hello everybody!

I got the new MAC Mineralize Foundation SPF 15 on Saturday and I am really liking it! I am a huge fan of MAC's Mineralize Satinfinish foundation, so I sure had to try this one! I was surprised at how creamy it is, I have been wearing it for the past two days and my skin feels great! It's very moisturizing, in fact, the texture is so creamy that you can easily spread it with your fingers, that is if you put on a primer beforehand, which I did. I used MAC's Prep and Prime Skin and the foundation glid on like nothing! I have yet to try it without primer.

I also tried it with 3 different brushes, the MAC 131 flat duo fibre brush (LE), the new MAC 130 duo fibre brush (LE) that the foundation came out with and the MAC 190 foundation brush, and that one worked best. The other ones didn't work at all, streaks all over my face. So basically, I suggest putting on a face primer first, then using your MAC 130 foundation brush and finally to buff it in with your fingers.

Here is how the foundation looks spread out on the back of my hand (without primer underneath):

Here it is worked into the skin, I just rubbed it in (again without primer):

As for the shades:

This foundation is darker than other MAC foundations, I am usually an NC 30, in pale winter days an NC 25, but with this one I had to go NC 20, which really surprised me. I tried the MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation in the past, which supposedly is also darker, but there I didn't have to change shades. So anyway, NC 20 for me.

The coverage I would say is medium but definitely buildable.

The foundation comes with a sponge and retails for 33 euros.
