The question is:
will I be thrown rotten eggs at when I'm going to wear these shoes?
By Louboutin Lovers and Red Sole Worshippers?
Let's hope not!
I remember when Christian Louboutin was denied the full trademark protection of its red sole and a huge outcry of fashionistas went through the shoesphere, all angrily hissing words like "copycat" and "plagiarist" to the general direction of potential sole imitators.
Now I am not a fan of imitations myself (although I do own the occasional "Abercrombie" t-shirt from street vendors in Bangkok...). I wouldn't wear a fake Louis Vuitton bag, but when I saw these shoes (by brand Buffalo by the way), so delicate, with the cute red sole, I was really torn.
I started to aks my girlfriends whether they thought it was cheap/embarassing/pathetic to wear imitations of the famous brand - and I really expected them to cry out: YES!
But they said No! They thought as long as they only have a red sole and don't pretend to be Loubies (which - if that small metal bar on the soles count - they don't).
So I thought, ok, why not! And I got them.
So the bottom line is:
I am owning these 9 cm/3.5 inch Buffalo leather pumps, I bought them at shoe store Humanic.
If you see me wearing them, don't throw things at me!!! :-DD
